Funnel Cloud Spotted in American Falls Idaho

Cephas and I are sitting in a motel in Pocatello watching TV so we caught the news and weather reports. About a half hour ago a funnel cloud was spotted in American Falls, Idaho which is only about thirty miles from us. We started to really pay attention to the weather after that. Within ten minutes a large series of lightning bolts and thunder moved through this area bringing with it some rain. The rain wasn't heavy but the storm moved through rapidly so it was the winds and any rotation that might be spawned from it that concerned us. I think it's over now so I can breathe easy for tonight.

A young woman working as the desk clerk tonight told me not to worry because they don't get tornadoes in this area. I have heard that so many times only to watch the tornado come through the very area where they don't happen. Who can figure the weather these days? Patterns are off course.

It feels good to be safe and warm tonight. I'm thinking about a hot shower after I finish my laundry. I can't seem to zero in on that Quality Gal article that I'm trying to finish. The umph - ahhh is gone, if you know what I mean.
