Thankful to be Safe

Wow! If you have read the news lately, then you saw all the reports of all the floods and tornadoes that have ravaged the countryside relentlessly with no end in sight. Indiana is under water with three inches of rain forecast for tomorrow. Tornadoes have struck around the nation in record force with massive destruction.

I am sitting in Weed, California with views of Black Butte and Mount Shasta on my way to the Rainbow gathering in Wyoming. I am thankful to be safe and in a calm weather area. Thank God.

Wish Upon A Star

"Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight."

Ever heard that little rhyme as a child? We used to look up at the stars from our backyard and night and recite this little poem. I was about six or seven. Remembering that made me want to write about star gazing tonight.

I found a website that might guide us on way to understanding the stars that we see tonight.

According to the above website, this is the information for June 1, 2008.

"June 1, 2008
The month of June is named for Juno, the queen of the gods of Rome. In ancient times, a month began when the crescent Moon was first seen in the evening sky from Capitoline Hill. If the modern calendar still followed that rule, this year June wouldn't start until Wednesday or Thursday."
